The plaintiff in this case was rear-ended while driving a work van, and the accident led to serious and permanent injuries. The suit alleged that the defendant driver was operating his vehicle in a careless, negligent and unlawful manner.
According to the settlement, the accident allegedly occurred due to the defendant's failure to slow or stop his vehicle. The plaintiff sought compensation after alleging injuries to his hands, left shoulder and neck; in addition to exacerbating his pre-existing degenerative disc disease, the neck injury involved a bulging disc, which necessitated a spinal fusion. He also suffered a serious post-surgery infection, which resulted in an additional surgery. Additionally, the client was placed on permanent work restrictions.
